Hollywood is no stranger to beauty obsessions, but few ingredients have caused as much buzz as salmon DNA, especially when extracted from salmon sperm. Once an insider treatment limited to clinics and medspas in South Korea, salmon DNA is now at the heart of a skincare revolution—thanks in part to Cotrini Skincare and its visionary founder, Camilo Triana.

“I’ve always been a huge fan of skincare, esthetics, and plastics,” Triana says. Before launching Cotrini, he built a successful oral care brand, which sharpened his instincts for thriving in a saturated wellness market. But it wasn’t until the pandemic that inspiration struck.
“I actually ended up getting that salmon sperm facial done on me,” he shares. “It was just remarkable because it completely changed my skin.”
That one treatment sparked a two-year journey. Triana dove deep into South Korea’s world-leading formulation labs, where salmon DNA had already been used in injectables known as “skin boosters”—multi-injection facials that deliver hydration, tissue repair, and collagen regeneration, similar in delivery to Botox.
“They found that injecting it in patients with bed sores healed tissue rapidly,” Triana explains. “But they also saw that it was exploding with collagen and hydration.”

Determined to make this science accessible without needles, Triana created Cotrini’s flagship: the Ultra Hydrating Night Cream, a luxurious topical formula built to deliver clinical-grade results—and then backed that promise with real data.
“I wanted to take these innovations… and introduce them into skincare topically, and then do clinical studies to prove that they are really effective.”
They did just that. “We got 65% improved hydration after 48 hours and 82% after day four,” he says. “Some people notice results overnight, depending on their skin type.”

But Cotrini’s real power lies in the community it’s created—built on organic results and authentic word of mouth. Janet Caperna, from Bravo’s The Valley, became a brand ambassador after using the night cream on a serious lip injury.
“They told her, ‘You’re going to have a scar,’” Triana recalls. “She started using our product, and it was literally making her scar disappear.”
Shortly after, Scheana Shay of Vanderpump Rules was introduced to Cotrini through Janet. She fell in love with the eye patches and became the face of the brand’s new billboard campaign on Sunset Boulevard. “Scheana reached out to us because she loved the eye patches and was introduced to the product by Janet,” Triana shares. “It was kind of amazing because of how organically it all happened.”
The patches in question? Cotrini’s micro-dart eye patches, tiny dissolving strips infused with salmon DNA and healing botanicals. “They stay on all night,” Triana says. “They dissolve into your skin. Scheana loves them for her smile lines and under-eyes.”
The brand blends cutting-edge science with heritage medicine, incorporating botanicals from traditional Chinese medicine that act as anti-inflammatories and support skin repair.

“What sets us apart is that we’re not just here to make you look good. We’re here to help you take care of what you have,” says Triana. “Our goal is to help you cherish and heal your skin.”
Beyond the spotlight, Cotrini is planning an ambitious expansion. “We’re pioneering clinical studies,” Triana reveals. “We don’t want to be a one-trick pony. Some of these technologies that are not available here are incredible… they just need a vessel.”
That vessel is growing fast. Cotrini will debut its new day cream and glabella patches (targeting “the 11’s” expression lines) this September.
“I’m thrilled about the launch of our new day cream,” Triana says. “It’s something so many have been asking for. Not only is it perfect for daytime hydration and protection, but it’s also designed for both the face and neck. We’re also introducing our latest micro-dart patches specifically for the 11’s—those stubborn frown lines between the brows.”
With its celeb-fueled visibility, science-backed results, and mission to heal instead of just cover up, Cotrini is redefining what luxury skincare really means.
“We are the leaders in this new trend of salmon DNA,” Triana says. “But more importantly, we’re helping people heal. That’s what keeps us going.”
For a generation that’s tired of filters and filler-only fixes, Cotrini offers something different: real results, real science, and real skin transformations.
