Libertine’s Spring 2025 NFYW Show’s 10 Best Looks

by | Sep 11, 2024

Libertine’s Spring 2025 runway show at New York Fashion Week was far more than just a spectacle of high fashion; it was a love letter to the endangered Elizabeth Street Garden in Soho, a beloved green space under threat of closure. Libertine’s Creative Director, Johnson Hartig, has never been one to shy away from bold statements, and his Spring 2025 runway show at New York Fashion Week was no exception.

Set to the iconic tune of Joni Mitchell’s “Big Yellow Taxi,” the models walked over pebbled pathways, some carrying gardening tools, others pushing wheelbarrows full of dirt, in what became fashion’s most stylish protest yet.

The stylish social action featured models pushing wheelbarrows and holding up garden implements and signs saying “Save the Garden.”

Attendees, including Martha Stewart and designer Thom Browne, enjoyed more than just fashion. Seed packets were handed out to guests, symbolizing environmental preservation. Additionally, the eclectic collection showcased Hartig’s unique artistic vision and highlighted the beauty of nature within the urban landscape.

The designs themselves were a perfect blend of East Coast refinement and West Coast ease. From floral motifs and avant-garde prints to fresh, youthful silhouettes, the collection embodied Libertine’s signature mix of rebellious elegance.
