Short Bio
Aaron is an independent film producer and director based in LA. He recently received his MFA in film directing from UCLA where he wrote and directed four films including “Bat Boy”, an Alfred P. Sloan funded film, and “The Beautiful Colors of Jeremy Sicile-Kira” that was nominated for a Student Academy Award, broadcast on PBS POV, and played in notable festivals including San Diego Int’l Film Festival, Palm Springs ShortFest, KCET Fine Cut and San Fransisco Doc Fest.
He also recently produced the short film, “In the Garden of Tulips” which won an Oscar qualifying award at the St. Louis Int’l film festival and was an official selection at Aspen ShortFest, Clermont-Ferrand Int’l Film Festival, Palm Springs ShortFest, SIFF, among many others. Prior to UCLA, he was the lead producer on the Emmy-award winning PBS series, Articulate with Jim Cotter and helped guide the show from a fledging local program to a nationally distributed TV series.
The stories that excite him most typically deal with science and psychology, whether these are stories about the environment, disability or overcoming difference. Underneath all of his stories are themes of hope and resilience.

Name the biggest pet peeve you have- no holds barred:
Leaf blowers.
How do you psyche yourself up for the day ahead:
I love to make breakfast tacos – it really sets up the day for success.

Go to products in your bag you can’t live without:
Neosporin.
How do you use Sundays to destress from work:
Go surfing – plain and simple.
How would you describe yourself:
Hardworking and kind.
What is your biggest weakness and strength:
Dyslexia.
What’s your hidden talent that no one, not even your partner knows about:
I can recite from memory all 8000 words of the epic poem “The Cremation of Sam McGee”.
What’s one trend you would obliterate forever:
Gas cars.

The best compliment you ever got from anyone:
Seeing people cry after watching one of my films 🙂
