NAME

Thomas Hollow

Occupation

Actor/Singer/Producer

Short Bio

Thomas is well known for being a genuinely over-enthusiastic person. He first found the arts as a singer and musician. Early in his career, he predominantly worked as a classical musician, touring internationally as a vocalist and chorister. After earning his BA in vocal performance from UCLA’s Herb Alpert School of Music, he couldn’t help but stumble into other genres like jazz and musical theater.

On stage, he has been seen in the role of Brock, in the Netflix Production of the ‘Stranger Things Drive-Into Experience,’ Bobby, in Stephen Sondheim’s ‘Company,’ and Frederick in Gilbert and Sullivan’s ‘The Pirates of Penzance.’ Currently Thomas is portraying the titular character in a limited run of the award nominated new play, ‘Vote for Tom Ryan’ at the Broadwater Theater. In performance, as described by Broadway World’s Gil Kaan, he “exhibits his melodic tenor” and “sharp tango moves.”

Chris Daniel’s on ‘The Show Report,’ describes Thomas as a “golden-voiced, charming” performer. In Film, Thomas has been seen and heard as Ansel Sheppard in Kayla Lanzalaco and Flynn Nicholl’s award winning pilot presentation of ‘ Lindy Thompson wants to be a Star,’ Jacob in Carmen Bartolome’s ‘American Dream,’ and Walt in Tanner Powell’s ‘Walt’s Walk to Work.’

Currently, Thomas is embarking on producing his first short film called, “That’s the Gift”. This surrealist short film explores the power of acceptance and the process of grief set against the wildly beautifu backdrop of a surrealist ball. If you want to help bring this vision to life, check out “That’s the Gift” here!

In each day we’re alive, tell us the three things you’re grateful for:

I am grateful form my family (blood and chosen), my physical and mental health, and a true love for the work I do.

Favorite type of music:

Big Band Jazz. If I were born 60 years ago, I would be singing in front of a full orchestra 5 nights a week.

Who would you switch lives with for one day if you could:

Jacob Collier, I need to know what goes on in his musical mind.

Name the biggest pet peeve you have- no holds barred:

People believing they are the “main character” in this word.

How do you psyche yourself up for the day ahead:

I start each day with deep breathing, meditation, and vocal warmups. Oh, and I need to eat…I need to have a full nourishing breakfast if I am going to do anything productive.

Go to products in your bag you can’t live without:

Chap stick and Sunscreen

How do you use Sundays to destress from work:

Rock climbing is the #1 way I let go of the weekly stresses. It also helps that my gym has a sauna. I like to sit in there until my brain turns into scrambled eggs.

How would you describe yourself:

I am a bombastic genuinely over enthusiastic person

What is your biggest weakness and strength:

I actually think I have the same answer for both. I am a very Very trusting person. At times, this can be a great weakness, as I have found putting this unwavering trust in some people has set back my mental health and career. On the other hand, my ability to connect deeply with others and be willing to trust has led to many beautiful friendships, collaborations, and professional successes.

What’s your hidden talent that no one, not even your partner knows about:

I can impersonate all of my immediate family’s walking patterns. If you close your eyes, I can match each of their cadences, the weight in which they walk, and most importantly how much they drag or do not drag their feet.

What’s one trend you would obliterate forever:

Getting news on social media.

LAI - Sundaze - Thomas Hollow

The best compliment you ever got from anyone:

Seeing people cry after watching one of my films 🙂
