A powerhouse Los Angeles real estate agent with a deep appreciation for architecture, style, and strategy, Nicole Young officially joined the cast of Selling Sunset in Season 6, and quickly became a fan favorite—blending glamor with grit in a business where million-dollar deals are just the beginning.
As Season 9 of the hit Netflix series gears up, Nicole sat down with the Los Angeles Inquisitor to talk about her journey from top-tier agent to reality TV star, the city that keeps her inspired, and why authenticity is the most underrated power move.

For Nicole, real estate isn’t just a job—it’s a calling. “It’s a deep passion that blends so many things I love,” she explained. “I’m endlessly inspired by the architecture and design of each property, the meticulous craftsmanship that brings them to life, and the evolving innovations in construction and technology. Every home tells a story, not just of the people who live there but also of the artistry and creativity that went into building it.”
More than the marble countertops and sweeping views, what drives Nicole is the emotional core of the business: helping people find a place that feels like home.“Spaces can significantly shape people’s lives,” she added. “There’s something deeply rewarding about connecting people with a place that feels like an extension of themselves while also honoring the incredible work that went into its creation.”
Joining the cast of Selling Sunset was a leap of faith—and a major pivot from the private world of real estate. “It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to do something completely out of my comfort zone. Being part of this show meant embracing the unknown and allowing myself to be vulnerable while adapting to an on-camera environment I hadn’t experienced before. It was also an exciting opportunity to step into the spotlight and share a glimpse of what it takes to succeed in such a competitive industry,” Nicole shared.

The Selling Sunset star detailed what it’s like balancing a successful real estate career with being part of a hit Netflix show. “I’m clear on where my priorities lie,” she explained. “While I absolutely love being part of the show and all the unique opportunities it brings, I recognize that it’s a moment in time compared to my lifelong career in real estate. My clients and my work as an agent have always been and will always remain my top priority. It’s about staying grounded and ensuring that my actions align with those priorities.”
To Nicole, real estate isn’t just about transactions—it’s about building relationships, understanding clients’ dreams, and delivering results that exceed expectations. “I’ve loved being able to highlight the human side of this business, as well as the passion and resilience it takes to navigate the ups and downs,” she explained.
Every client has a story, a vision, and aspirations, and Nicole is driven by the opportunity to be a part of that journey. “Building trust and making the process enjoyable—especially with something as emotional and significant as real estate—is incredibly fulfilling,” she shared.
Eighteen years ago, Nicole packed her bags and made L.A. home. “This city constantly challenges me to think bigger, push boundaries, and try new things. It’s a city that rewards risk-takers and visionaries, creating an environment where anything feels possible.”
Los Angeles has been essential to Nicole’s success and personal growth. “What I find so unique about L.A. is its celebration of individuality—it’s a place that encourages you to take risks and embrace non-traditional career paths. And the diversity here is unmatched—cultures, industries, and perspectives collide in a way that constantly fuels creativity and opens doors to possibilities you wouldn’t find anywhere else,” she said with her heart.
Nicole’s path to success wasn’t so much about following a rigid plan; it was more about finding the courage to listen to her instincts, to pursue opportunities that truly excited her, and to be open to unexpected opportunities, like Selling Sunset.

She says the secret to success starts with identifying what lights you up inside. “Think about what motivates you to wake up with enthusiasm, and let that guide your decisions. Surround yourself with people who inspire and uplift you. Success isn’t linear, and the most fulfilling path is one that aligns with your values and passions.”
Nicole is all about authenticity. “People can sense when you’re being genuine, and I think that’s been the foundation for all the connections I’ve made. Of course, there were challenges, but embracing failure as part of the process helped me grow and refine my approach,” she shared.
Fans of Nicole’s Instagram already know: the girl’s got style. Fashion, like real estate, is another form of self-expression for her. “I love timeless, powerful silhouettes that feel both strong and feminine. My go-to look? High-waisted wide-leg trousers with a fitted top, open-toed stilettos, and gold jewelry—always gold.”

When it comes to summer style, she recommends bold colors, playful patterns, and texture mixing. “A flowy off-the-shoulder top with structured shorts? Yes, please. And accessories are everything—oversized sunnies, layered necklaces, woven bags. The little details elevate the entire look.”
While she appreciates a good trend, Nicole is all about meaningful content—especially on social media.“One of my favorite trends right now is storytelling. Real, authentic posts that show people’s personalities, passions, and creative sides. Social media can be so powerful when it’s used to connect rather than just impress.”
As Nicole gears up for summertime and the next installment of Selling Sunset to drop, she speaks glowingly about her experience with Netflix, calling it “a dream.”
“From day one, I’ve felt fully supported, knowing they have our backs no matter what. It’s so reassuring to work with a company that values the people behind the projects as much as the projects themselves, and that commitment creates such a strong sense of trust and gratitude,” she beamed. She’s also a big fan of the Netflix lineup outside of her own show. “My go-to favorites? Ozark, The Gentlemen, The Queen’s Gambit, Beef, Workin’ Moms, and Bloodline. It’s hard to choose just one!”
Nicole keeps things close to the chest when it comes to spoilers for the upcoming season of her own show, but she promises that it will be one for the books.
“Season 9 of Selling Sunset is shaping up to be the most explosive season yet,” Nicole teases. “While I haven’t seen the episodes and know that a lot can change in the editing room, I can tell you that this season is packed with jaw-dropping moments, tense dynamics, and plenty of surprises that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.”
