The 13th Annual BRA Run Returns to Playa Del Rey to Support Breast Cancer Survivors

by | Aug 22, 2025

Playa Del Rey is set to come alive with energy, community spirit, and pink flair on Sunday, August 24, 2025, as the 13th Annual BRA Run 5K & 13K returns to Dockweiler Beach. This one-of-a-kind event combines fitness, fun, and philanthropy—all in support of Evelyn’s Breast Friends Forever (BFF), a nonprofit dedicated to helping breast cancer survivors rebuild their lives.

Participants will run or walk along a fully paved, scenic course next to the sand, with events for all ages, including a kids’ run and even a bike tour. True to its name, the BRA Run isn’t just about crossing the finish line—it’s about raising awareness for Breast Reconstruction Awareness (BRA). Runners are encouraged to wear their most creative costumes and sport decorated bras in honor or memory of loved ones affected by breast cancer.

Why We Run

Founded in 2013 by Evelyn, a breast cancer survivor and advocate, the BRA Run has become the signature fundraiser for Evelyn’s BFF. The charity helps survivors cover the enormous financial and emotional costs that often come with breast cancer treatment—expenses like counseling, reconstruction, and other needs not typically covered by insurance. Many grant recipients face medical bills in the six-figure range, and this event determines how many women and families can be helped each year.

By registering, donating, or cheering from the sidelines, participants directly support survivors and spread vital awareness.

Can’t Make It in Person? Go Virtual!

Supporters nationwide can join the cause through the Virtual Run/Walk. Virtual participants will receive a race bib, shirt, and medal by mail, making it possible to run or walk anywhere while still contributing to the mission.

How to Get Involved

📍 Location: 12000 Vista Del Mar, Dockweiler Beach, Playa Del Rey, CA 90293
📲 Share your race day photos using #brarunla and tag @brarunla and @runmercury for a chance to be featured.

Whether you’re running, walking, biking, or cheering, the BRA Run 2025 is more than a race—it’s a movement of hope, awareness, and community for breast cancer survivors.

👉 Join the movement by registering for the race, donating to Evelyn’s BFF, or spreading the word on social media. Every step, every post, and every contribution makes a difference.

Together, let’s honor Evelyn’s legacy and uplift survivors everywhere.
